After discussion with the committee, and in line with the government requirement that all clubs should close, we have no option but to close the courts for the time being. It is understood that the government will review this position in 4 weeks.
I realise that many of you wish to continue playing and that two is hardly a crowd, but for now we need to take a clear decision on supporting the government position of minimising the rate of increase of infection. I have checked on the England Squash website and they are unequivocal in confirming this position.
This position will become more difficult in future as people catch the virus and recover, and we must trust that a degree of flexibility will be forthcoming for the low risk of transmission that two people on court who often just play each other regularly, actually pose to the community.
I wish you all well in trying to stay fit, and hope I can bring you better news towards the end of April.
